Process servers provide notification to defendants, witnesses, and others involved in legal cases by personally serving (or delivering) copies of the documents to the parties involved.
A process server’s role in the legal industry is crucial. Each person involved in a court case has rights afforded to them by the Constitutions of the United States and State of New York. By ensuring that the legal documents are properly served to the parties of the action, process servers ensure each party has knowledge of the proceeding and the opportunity to exercise their rights as guaranteed under the Constitution.
Without the important notification that process servers provide, people might never be aware they were part of a legal action until it’s too late.
